Thanks to a look on the Show Films First website, I managed to snap up some free tickets to a comedy gig at Club 99, part of the ‘Storm Nightclub’ which is between the Odeon cinema and the Yates bar/restaurant.
The MC, Brett Goldstein made light work of warming up the crowd and after the first act, got into some very funny material.
Nick Revell, the first act was very topical, though the use of the f-word was a little excessive for my taste, but funny none-the-less.
Angela Barnes, the main support act, who was arguably the funniest comedian of the night and made my choke on my Pepsi. I can’t wait to see her headlining a show and a few more TV appearances wouldn’t go amiss! Check out her website here.
Headliner, Kerry Godliman, was also extremely funny but the jokes were more focused to the females in the audience. I understood the reference but my companion enjoyed the headline act slightly more than me.
This was a great night in a very central venue. I would have been more than happy to pay for this and felt a little cheeky for scoring the free tickets. Not complaining though!
